I wrote "Adventure Melons" when I was living in Queensland, Australia. There, I found the inspiration and the relaxation to write my first book. We went to the Chinchilla Melon Festival which is held every two years in the town of Chinchilla, being also called "The Melon Capital of Australia," and the idea of the book grew. Some days after this, the Adventure Melons started to take shape. The Characters: Walter, Pete, Percy and Peanut, and some of the antics and mischief are made up out of some of the memories of my own children when they were small, and the adventures they had as they played and sometimes squabbled. This turns to laughter to which I added some of my own humor. I had great encouragement from Reinhold, my husband, and it is now a pleasure seeing my grandchildren being interested in reading this book. I will be pleased if you enjoy reading this book as well.
