Evan desperately wants to go to the mall with his mother to tell Santa he changed his Christmas wish. When his mother refuses, Evan's frustration leads to breaking a small angel figurine in his room, triggering a magical encounter with the real angel. Join Evan as the life-sized Christmas angel guides him on an adventure to learn the true meaning of Christmas while he experiences Jesus' teachings of love, compassion, and the joy of giving. Their afternoon visits include: A homeless shelter; the mall, watching a poor woman buying a coat for someone who doesn't have one; a family's effect on elderly residents at a nursing home; and a school. Together, they show acts of kindness and caring for others, sharing what you can, and doing the right thing-what the angel explains are the essence of Christmas, helping Evan understand there is more to Christmas than presents. Once home, Evan's attitude changes with his new understanding of the Christmas spirit, and a surprise. The gift Evan really wanted is under the Christmas tree! Maybe the angel told Santa? This heartwarming story and enchanting children's picture book inspires readers to embrace the holiday season with love, compassion and kindness. And just like Evan, they learn the meaning of Christmas beyond material gifts. Evan's magical journey with the Christmas angel explains the true meaning of Christmas and why Jesus' birthday is still important today. Beginner Readers; picture book; children's book; Grade level 2 - 3; Age 4 - 8
