An HistoricalSketch Of Bookbinding is a part of ‘The History of Bookbinding Technique and Design’-A series of reprint volumes, original monographs, and translations relating to the history of bookbinding. The chief part of the present book was written as an Introduction to the Catalogue of the Exhibition of Bindings, held at the Burlington Fine Arts Club in the Summer of 1891. Includes an appendix of a detailed account of embroidered covers, metal ornaments and book-edge decoration from the ‘Magazine of Art.’
