Harmony is an expat from Minnesota who lives in China with Livia, an expat from Manitoba. Their backgrounds are only one of the reasons they became best friends as soon as they met each other far from home. Livia's boyfriend, Hiram, moved with her to China more than a few years ago. Wherever Livia goes, Hiram tries to follow.When Harmony is invited to a tropical island off the coast of Thailand for a unique vacation, she brings Livia along. Naturally, Livia brings Hiram. To avoid being a third wheel, Harmony invites Mthandeni, an expat from Cape Town, whom she only just started dating. Ko Sawan being a nudist island for a week only makes it a tropical paradise for them. Matilda is clearly older than Gage, though younger than Rick and Amanda.
