Very successful combination here of bright red cherries and spicier, more complex notes of cloves, dark chocolate, eucalyptus and cypress. Ripe and decadent at first with loads of dried fruit and tobacco, but then a totally unexpected wave of vibrant acidity takes hold and refreshes the palate. Meanwhile, the tannins are extremely polished and elegant. Very long on the finish. This wine has now become a Tuscany IGT - no longer a Chianti Classico. Drink from 2024 [to 2034+]. Score - 96.
