Ripe and fleshy strawberries and red cherries on the nose, smells potent and rich and full. Bright and zingy, a tang to the red berry fruit with clear liquorice spice and clove setting in around the mouth helped by the fine but firm and grippy tannins giving a coating of crushed velvet powderiness. Juicy and succulent still, though the bite and tang takes centre stage and just restricts the finish a little. Good potential. Harvest 17 - 30 September. Ageing 18 months; 33% new barrels (25% 400L), 33% one wine, 33% two wine. Derenoncourt consultants. Drinking window: 2025-2040.
