Having grown up in the South, Beck Thomason had lived his life with Southern charm and hospitality. After his death, his never-before-seen collection of short stories are now compiled into one collection of small-town Southern life. A star baseball pitcher has his wildest dreams come true, only to have the fear of his rival haunt him. A young man watches the potential love of his life turn to partying. Three boys play a prank on another for a load of laughs, but with a new victim in mind comes an unexpected and brutal outcome.
Addressing racism, morality, faux and real Southern charm, Beck Thomason illustrates the complexity of the hometown goodness of the South.
