Considered the darkest of the whole collection, "The Stump" tells the story of a dying quadriplegic who's kept prisoner in utter darkness and how he fell victim to his fate with his last grueling confession. Within a moment of clarity, "Demon in A Bottle: An Alcoholic's Memoir" is a narrative presented by an alcoholic who's facing life in prison for his actions. What's worse is that all he can think of are the good times he'll be missing indefinitely and the only one who's willing to lend an ear to his story is his very own attorney.
