So very curious to taste this 2014 three years after first tasting Dreissigacker's 2015 iteration of what is one of the Rheinhessen's driest and tightest rieslings. This style of wine happens neither without great intent nor attention to varietal detail. just as that '15 needed time and also air, so has and does this '14 but the platinum gold hue and wildly smouldering aromatic cue leads to an imagination running wild. Who does not love a riesling of great fantasy borne out of a trenchant will to create something extraordinary. The price of this Trocken Bechtheimer has risen dramatically but two things warrant the increase. Quality for one but also time because seeing and tasting this eight to nine years post vintage brings about clarity and deeper understanding. This is complex riesling of a requiem to enjoyment risen up from age and oxygenation. The fine bitters on the finish complete the electric reality and flip to the acoustic side. Love minus zero, no limits, into the gates of Eden and bringing it all back home. Drink 2023-2027. Tasted October 2023. Score - 95.
