When the world almost ended, humans were all but destroyed. It was then that the supernatural beings of the world were finally given a chance to show themselves. And to save the human's miserable existence. The region known as the House of Aries is home to the ancient Vampire race. Angry with the humans for eons of hateful rumors, the Vampire counsel wanted nothing to do with them, thus banishing all but a select few from their dominion. Those who remained swore to obey and serve their vampire caretakers. Every ten years one young male and one young female between the ages of 21 and 35 were sacrificed to the counsel as proof of the human's devotion. These sacrifices would leave their home and everything they had ever known, never to return again. As an orphan, I have no one. I won't be missed, unlike several of the other women in my community. Tonight at the banquet in which our community elders choose the sacrifices, I'll be volunteering. I don't know what awaits me, but I'll face it head on.
