When you went out to John in the desert, what did you expect to see? A blade of grass bending in the wind? A man dressed up in fancy clothes? People who dress like that live in palaces!(Mt.11:7-8) Jesus addressing John's disciples who had been sent to find out if Jesus was the real Messiah. His response was not only shocking but also very didactic about the mark of a true prophet. A true prophet is humble, down to earth and honest. He or she gives the true message to God's people, not the message that the people want to hear, a true prophet will not give prophecy that serves self- interest. The Holy Spirit will inevitably guide the prophecy. In this captivating book, Pastor Peter Gunn bares open this most sensitive topic of how to tell a true prophecy from the untrue one. This book could not have come at a better time when varied signs and messages are given to God's people from all directions by their so-called spiritual mentors. The Time experienced in religious circles is indeed hard and personal interests are taking a front seat at the expense of giving of God's message to the people. Pastor Peter Gunn has researched deeply on the false prophecies, spicing his explanations with first person experiences and biblical texts. The book is an interesting informative and inspirational spiritual read;it will provide both guidance and support to the keen and enthusiastic followers of Christ. It is imperative also to note that prophecy is a global mayhem!
