- HOT THERAPY DIRECTIONS (1200-WATT MICROWAVE): 1. Ensure microwave is free from oils, food and dirt particles and ensure compress is at room temperature.2. Distribute gel evenly and place unfolded compress flat in microwave.3. Heat at full power for 45 seconds. 4. Knead contents to distribute heat. Test temperature for comfort level before applying (temperature will continue to rise slightly). If compress is too hot, let cool until temperature is acceptable. 5. If not hot enough, return to microwave and heat in 10-second increments.6. Do not overheat. Excessive heating may cause compress to rupture and leak.DO NOT apply hot therapy for more than 20 minutes. COLD THERAPY DIRECTIONS: 1. Place compress in freezer for at least 1 hour. 2. Knead contents and apply to affected area. 3. Monitor skin during application to avoid frostbite. If compress feels too cold, remove it and wait until temperature is acceptable. DO NOT apply cold therapy for more than 20 minutes.
