After being found and recovering from his long stay in the woods; to his stay at the shelter waiting to be adopted, Milo shows resilience and is an inspiration to all who meet him. His kind and loving nature even earns him a job at the shelter while waiting to be adopted! After suffering from a bad leg that will never heal, he still maintains a joy for life that is evident to all. He is a sweet and loving dog and people smile when they see him, even if they feel sad at the time. They feel happy at the sight of him! That is Milo's gift. About the Author Susan Engelmore is a first time author, and living her lifelong dream of writing a children's book. She is passionate about animal welfare, and has volunteered at local animal shelters, a nature center, and an exotic animal rescue in Florida. While volunteering at her local SPCA four years ago, she adopted Milo. His inspirational story of survival and resilience was one the author felt compelled to share. He was given a second chance at life by Maddie's Shelter Program at Cornell University, and this is his story.
