Gunther Martin was a large and imposing man easily towering over his fellow outlaws in height. He was also packed with more muscle than any of them which was no mean feat, considering that they were on the run from the law, and meals were sometimes a luxury. Despite their hectic and dangerous lifestyle, Martin was built like a mountain while his fellow outlaws were built more like stringy pebbles. A life on the run had clearly taken its toll on the men, but Gunther Martin seemed to be made for such a godforsaken life. This was one of many reasons why he led the gang and commanded their respect.
