This book Renewed Gem - I am a Daughter of the King is a book about an African American girl whose name is Queen Tamar and she suffered years of extreme forms of different types of abuse at the hands of her now deceased stepfather who's name was Butch, plus Butch's daughter Ernestine, and Butch's friends' Rex, Brock, Lester, Wallace, Lorenzo and Lorenzo's wife Belinda. Butch trafficked Queen Tamar to his friend's for years. Due to the extreme torture and brutality of the abuse Queen Tamar suffered, she ended up developing severe mental health issues from the time she was thirteen and up. She lived a constant life turmoil and never ending mental agony. She spent many years in and out of psychiatric hospitals, on psychiatric medications, and in counseling. Her maternal grandmother Daisy was her only saving grace and gave her the stability that she so badly needed until she found and developed a personal relationship with the Lord. Daisy was the only person in Queen Tamar's life that was consistent and showed her unwavering, steadfast, unconditional love until Daisy passed away in 2003. All throughout Queen Tamar's life Daisy taught her about the lord and gave her her beginning of her spiritual foundation. In Proverbs 22:6 it says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it". Once Queen Tamar became saved and begun walking in the ways of the Lord her entire life changed completely around from A to Z. She allowed the Lord to come in and do a work within her that no psychiatric medication, no psychiatrist, no psychiatric hospital, or no counselor could ever do. She allowed the lord to fill that void that was in her life and found a love from the Lord that she had so badly longed for. Today Queen Tamar's life for the most part is miraculously good and has changed because of God and the work that she's done within herself. Today Queen Tamar has an unshakeable peace, an unshakable joy, and a unshakable happiness that can't be moved by the things in this life. Today she's a walking, talking, breathing, living, testimony of what God can can do if one allows him too.
