What a wild nose of fresh herbs, at once tonic and medicinal, with a framing of fruit, clean, pure and ripe! There's certainly a high degree of complexity on offer, and I wouldn't call it classic barbera, but it delivers plenty. I like the drive and energy, and the very vibrant, crunchy acids; tannins are quite light and fine, but provide only modest structure in the end. I'd suggest another year or so in the cellar to gain complexity and allow it to flesh out. Tasted July 2023.
