This booklet defines the Quest, looks at its purpose, and provides an overview of the historical development including the major phases of the Quest. The Quest is examined within the context of the work, methodology, presuppositions, and conclusions of the Jesus Seminar. The work of the Jesus Seminar is analyzed, the importance of the Quest for understanding the New Testament Gospels is reviewed, and the challenge of the future of the Quest of the historical Jesus is evaluated.
