Western democracy has brought many of us unprecedented opportunity and prosperity. A century ago, many of us would have been living a subsistence life, working hard to make daily ends meet. But today, we have rights. We have voices. Our votes matter. So why is it that we feel less connected to the political process, less heard by our representatives, and less influential to the policies and laws that dictate the patterns of our society?
In Tiered Democratic Governance, Dave Volek first discusses these issues by revealing the flaws and limits of modern day democracy. But after dissecting the root of our problems he does not leave the reader hopeless for a solution, as many social analysts and philosophers do. Instead, he lays out a system of communication and decision-making that transcends the ones currently in place: Tiered Democratic Governance.
By doing away with politicking and instead placing our focus on governing, we save endless hours and billions of dollars on campaigns, positioning, personal vendettas, and the continual procrastination and squabbling we see among our political leaders. Instead of placing power in the hands of those skilled at acquirng influence who are usually aligned with those with the deepest pockets, the TDG finds the most capable individuals in our communities and puts them into decision-making positions.
When individuals and society switch their focus to meeting the needs and wishes of the people through genuine consultation, transparent decision-making, and altruism, government initiatives will be more successful and the population will be more satisfied. And satisfied people will be more productive.
And this change all starts with you! Read this book to start your part in this social movement.
