This is a series of two books that need to be read as one. The first volume is about what interest me about Edisto Island and about some of the things I personally did coming up on Edisto. It is not written as a history of Edisto but as a number of facts and unique experiences I have had. Volume Two contains as much information I could find out about my Lybrand ancestors and how the Lybrand's fit into Edisto Island and its development starting in 1942. The Lybrand's must have left a lasting memory on Edisto because there is a long street on Edisto Beach named after my father. His name was Harvie Samuel Lybrand. At the present time there are still Lybrand's living on Edisto Island and to most people familiar with Edisto it is a recognizable name associated with Edisto.
