As an older retired person from Minnesota, I began to have interest in the beginning and progression of this new virus from Wuhan China at the beginning of 2020, I thought about early diseases which impacted earlier generations, and how little we knew about them. My mother for example, born in 1915, the youngest of 12, lost brothers to diphtheria. I decided to begin a journal of the progression of COVID for future generations of my family. Little did I know the impact this disease would have on our communities, Our schools, our health systems and capabilities, our businesses, and our worship life. The lack of response to follow directives helping others and its impact on the number of deaths which spared no one, or any part of the world. I studied and detailed it's progression and response in the worldwide community. 2020 was TORN BY COVID. This book details the beginning of COVID 19, in December 2019 and the announcement to the worldwide community in January 2020. It was a perfect storm as it originated in Wuhan China, which is a worldwide manufacturing city, with visitors and visitor residents from around the world. At the announcement of this virus rapidly spreading in Wuhan, these visitors quickly boarded planes and trains to return to their homes not realizing they were carrying the virus, and would be the catalyst for worldwide expansion of this pandemic. The world quickly had an uncontrolled pandemic with no medical remedy available. While the medical community tried to respond, the virus was out of control, and isolation became the only remedy for containment... 2020 was TORN BY COVID.
