Now when I walk around the lake near Vantage House, there is a precise spot on the north end where I stop on the wooden bridge. Framed by two trees all I see is the lake, the sky, harboring trees... And I'm back near the flowing creek and the morning glories. And I never feel closer to God than during those few minutes. At age ninety-five, Robert J. McAllister M.D., Ph.D. takes the reader on a journey through memories, short articles, and family and friend interactions. The loss of his wife, Jane, prompted a need to share and remember his time with her, and to review his life and the different experiences that shaped it, good and bad. 95 and Counting: My Cup of Life is for any reader looking to appreciate the joy in meaningful relationships, an enthusiasm for life's challenges, the blessings of faithful love, and gratefulness for God, Who provides for all. About the Author Robert J. McAllister M.D., Ph.D. grew up on a ranch in Montana, which grounded him in faith, a sense of duty, work ethic, and great determination to face things head on. He enlisted in the army as an infantry rifleman and spent fifty-five days in combat in Germany and Austria. He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology at Catholic University of America, earned his M.D. at Georgetown University, and practiced psychiatry for forty-eight years. He has published four prior books and twenty-four articles in professional and religious journals. He is the father of six and is currently living in retirement.
