In 2006, author Elizabeth Weber, experienced the extraordinary circumstance of losing her husband to cancer while house-sitting. Without any friends or family nearby, she found the starkness of her predicament only served to amplify her mourning process. Consequently, Elizabeth found herself going through what Joseph Campbell called "The Supreme Ordeal" in his study of "The Hero's Journey." Fortunately, she did not have to go through it completely alone. With twelve weeks of coaching as a jumpstart, Elizabeth was able to navigate her way deep into the heart of mourning. However, she soon found that finding her way out of mourning was a different story.
