A Book of Make Believe is made up 28 stories, ranging from mystery, space, and Thankgiving, mixed with facts about the author. "The Mess Up On Thanksgiving" takes place at Daniel's Grandma's and Grandpa's house. Daniel had a sister name Betty Jean, but he never got a chance to meet her. So he created her in his story and other books that he has written. In "My Long Lost Daughter," Daniel meets a friend at a massage parlor. As he talks with her, he begins to recognize her. She is his long lost daughter.
