When I was little my dad always had a solution to my problems, no matter how simple the problem, he always had the same solution: to pray. A Conversation with My Dad is a delightful memoir dedicated to the memory of the author's parents Charles and Mary Doxey. In this book the author shares her experience as a little girl enduring a problem with her classmates. She approaches her dad wanting a solution to her problem and as always, he gives her the same solution: to pray. The author recounts how a tearful prayer strengthened her faith in a big God. So much so that she compiled the wise counsel she received from her dad into instructional lessons for parents to guide their children in daily prayer and faith. The author is a firm believer in Proverbs 22:6 "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it." The author would like children to walk away knowing that God answers prayer, no matter the problem. Jessica Doxey-Gray was born in Virginia, she studied Marriage and Family Counseling at the University of Liberty. She began writing her debut novel after working with children with exceptionalities. When she's not writing, she can be found spending time with family. This book was inspired by her parents who always believed in the power of prayer.
