While searching through a misty fog, the truth of who she is gets grimmer and grimmer as she gets closer to finding out who she is. "A Kiss from a Deadly Past" concerns a young man living on a distant planet in the far future who is in love and sets out to have his first kiss. Devastation overtakes him when she becomes sick because of that kiss, and soon after afflicted with a deadly virus. The story "A Bloody Night Cap" is about a teacher named Sarah who is so infatuated with her date, she ignores major red flags. The night is sure to end in a bloody mess. The last story of the collection is "Pay the Ice Cream Man". It is a non-fiction story that takes place on a hot summer day, surrounding three kids named Shea, Carrie, and Chris who yearned for an ice cream from the ice cream truck and what Chris did to make that happen.
