Amanda Sparrow Large Teague is Ireland’s only modern day pirate. When she watched Pirates of the Caribbean for the first time in 2015, her life transformed. Overturning her lifestyle completely, she became an impersonator of Captain Jack Sparrow. Garnering mass attention in the press and making TV appearances to thousands, she has since become one of the best known impersonators in the world. Disney recognised her in their book Pirates of the Caribbean – The Collector’s Anthology and dedicated a whole section to her close replication of the true Jack Sparrow. But her self-discovery didn’t end there. Amanda soon found that her life-shifting moment upon discovering Jack Sparrow was no coincidence.
