Alaska Adventure is not only a story of survival in a harsh frozen land but of faith in one's ability to overcome fear and isolation for a prolonged period of time. Wayne made plans as he went along, not considering anyone except himself. This approach to adventures went well with him--most of the time. Alaska was a far cry from the lower 48's and an environment out of his league. On top of everything else, being responsible for a young eight-year-old Haden was a situation in which he certainly did not have any expertise. Being in the military had taught Wayne how to approach problems quickly, so when the crash happened and he and Haden were left in the frozen wilderness of Alaska for so long, those problems were addressed, and they possibly got help from an unseen identity. There cannot be any other answer--something else was out there with them.
