As 1981 arrives, Cynthia Veil, Robert McKellen, and their close friends Josephine Wemple and Dorothy Muller are exposed to fantasy roll-playing games and decide to take part in an ongoing AD&D campaign run by Scott Jensen. But, real world troubles from their past resurface and must somehow be faced, especially after a premeditated assault lands two of the teens in the hospital.
