Pointer writes about the discrimination he faced getting six degrees and the positive role models who helped him both black and white people to overcome adversity to achieve many goals that he wanted to pursue which is written about in the book starting with his boyhood, adolescent and adulthood, his high school days, and college experiences, and the will to not let anything keep him from getting a good education.
