"Second Time Around" is the second in the romantic mystery series, "Badges, Guns and Love." For the past year, Jake and Cassie were partners in crime. "In Badges, Guns and Love," they discovered their secret love for each other when their last assignment forced them to marry each other and come to terms with their feelings for each other. Now, in "Second Time Around," Jake and Cassie return from the Magic Beginnings Resort and begin their lives as newlyweds. They also know if they want to keep their jobs, they must keep their marriage a secret from their coworkers. In the meantime, they are assigned their next case. Teenage girls are found dead near the local high school, and it is believed someone inside the school is doing the killing. Cassie and Jake must go undercover in the school to find out who. Also, who is going around town, gang raping women for the fun of it?
