In 2016, I went to pursue my studies in China. I met friends, learned the language, and completely soaked myself into the culture that this mysterious country has to offer. As a Barbadian, I was not aware of many of my countrymen who had ever gone to China; and so, I saw it fit to write about my journey. This is why the initial chapters read more like a journal than a book. I was most likely the first, and perhaps only, person known to my friends to make such a journey (Barbados is on the other side of the planet). As such, many of them would constantly ask me what China was like. Having to reply to message after message, I decided to write little entries and send to those wondering what I was up to. After many months, I thought it would be a good idea to compile them and see how much I'd written. This book was born of that idea.
