The suffering in the world has made many reject God. This is not a Book of easy answers; they just don’t exist! Neither do we try to defend God. A full understanding cannot come from a theoretical explanation, but we can gain insight into it when we meet God there in a personal and profound way! Your suffering must draw you closer to the Saviour! In the furnace, we see the hand of God at work, in the worst moments of life, where all fleshly support is absent; yet here, eternal love reveals its deep secrets! ‘Battered but not Shattered’ is a companion for the wounded, showing that even in the fiercest battles, God, in His wisdom, makes the worst things imaginable turn to the good of His saints, bringing beauty from ashes! His ways are ‘past finding out’, better to be admired than to be understood! In the end, Job met God, and he was totally transformed! As you study this book, like Job, your bitter, hard words will turn to Praise!
