This book is about butterflies, but it’s really about believing in yourself. A lonely butterfly is taught that there are only twelve butterflies in the world. She resists this idea, goes in search of other butterflies, and eventually discovers she is right. The story ends with a big butterfly celebration, and the reader can actually bring this to life for the child with the availability of a small fan and fifty beautiful paper butterflies that flutter lifelike from the book (obtained from a website that accompanies the book).
