The 2019 Aloxe-Corton Les Paulands 1er Cru has an easygoing bouquet with red cherries, redcurrant and subtle rose petal scents. Good definition and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with good tension and perhaps a touch more precision than the Les Petites Lolières. Where it does fall a little short is on the curtness of the finish - you wish for more sustain in the mouth. Otherwise, this is a decent, quite saline Aloxe-Corton that should age nicely in bottle. Drinking window: 2023-2035. Score - 90-92.
