In this second book in the "Charlotte's Shadow" series, Charlotte starts a new school. Her classmates learn that Shadow is more than a pet, she is Charlotte's service dog. Shadow helps Charlotte with all kinds of things she can't do on her own. One of Charlotte's classmates, Ida, is afraid of dogs but through time Ida finds a new friend in Shadow and learns about the special bond between people and service animals.
