This iconic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan and Cinsault from vineyards near the Bekaa Valley villages of Aana and Kefraya is Chateau Musar's flagship red. The vines average around 40 years of age, and each variety is fermented and aged separately in cement vats for one year and then sees a further 12 months in French oak before the final blend is assembled, returned to cement tanks and aged another year before being bottled. The wine is released after a further four years ageing in the bottle. No wonder this wine is so renowned. Finessed, focused and intense, it's a wine that will require decanting, even at this stage. It will continue to develop into the late 2030s and may even see you into the 2040s.
