CRAVING CROWN , is a collection of poems crafted by a Kenyan poetess; Mukami Kinyua. It portrays poetic minds and sentiments of people in diverse surroundings as it deals with: desire, betrayal, love and identity. We all crave for different things in life. Sometimes what we crave for comes on a silver platter, other times or rather a times we sweat ourselves out to quench our cravings. However, what we crave for has consequences, it may be negative or positive. The results of our cravings become our crown. A range of literary devices have been utilized to creatively deliver the issues addressed and when keenly contemplated on, they relate to the perspective of real life situations. Despite the hurdles we go through in life, becoming a person did not happen as an accident. It requires persistence, courage, strength and resilience to be a better version of ourselves.
