Don S. Hunter has had a distinguished career as a psychotherapist, professor, clinical supervisor and consultant for over fifty years. Don's first book, Chronic Pain: My Journey, is a memoir published by Tellwell Publishing in February 2023. This present work of fiction grew out of his many years of experience working with clients who have experienced the loss of a beloved family member from illness, accidents or various forms of violence, resulting in murder. Don, having been through the loss of close friends and family members, was drawn to this work through his volunteer experience with Bereaved Families of Ontario, and later as clinical consultant for the Toronto chapter for five years. Having co-facilitated many bereavement groups and guided individuals privately, this story is about a group psychotherapist working with six individuals who had experienced the murder of a close family member, where no perpetrator was ever found through police investigations. They all experienced deep emotional struggles with issues surrounding their relationships with their loved one, the desire for justice, and the existing problems within the legal system. This story is both exciting and captivating, with twists and turns that will keep readers guessing as to what is really going on! Don is retired from his psychotherapy practice and lives in Toronto with his wife and partner of over fifty years and a nine-month-old Great Dane. His two grown sons, their partners, and four grandchildren all live close to each other and visit often.
