Emine Sesen, a Kurdish activist lawyer and former political prisoner, is retained to investigate. The daughter of an influential chieftain, Sesen is compelled to work with General Arslan Büyükdag, a Special Forces officer from a distinguished Turkish military family, assigned to the case by the army. Natural enemies, the two must overcome their wariness, resist their mutual attraction and rely on each other to uncover the truth in the face of an unholy conspiracy to silence them. The two find themselves penetrating Turkey's shadowy "deep state," pursued by renegade members of the military as well as Hezbollah terrorists. They soon realize more is at stake than the fate of one Kurdish doctor and his family. Arslan's loyalties to the military are challenged and Emine learns the limits of her identity and heritage as a Kurd.
