If you want to teach your kids how to be safe around dogs and learn how to have a respectful loving relationship with your dog, this is the book to read. Kids, and their parents, will learn how to behave in situations that are the most common scenarios for family dogs to bite kids. This book is intended for kids ages 2 to 4 years old (and their parents:) About the Author Dr. Levine is one of 85 board certified veterinary behaviorists in the country. She works exclusively with pets who have behavior issues. After years of working with families whose pet dogs have bitten the children in the family, Dr. Levine recognized how some basic information could prevent so many bites to young kids. When her daughter was a toddler, she tried to find books that would teach her how to be safe around dogs but couldn't find an appropriate resource so she wrote her own! She lives in Northern New Jersey with her husband, daughter, dog and cat. For parents who wish to learn more about this topic in general please visit XXXXXXXXXX. Sarah Rachel Glazer lives in Knoxville, Tennessee with her two dogs who inspired a few of the illustrations in this book. She spends most of her days painting and drawing while sipping chai tea and listening to audio books. Sarah has always loved dogs and hopes this book can help foster better understanding between dogs and their humans. You can see more of Sarah’s work- including her first book “The Alliterative Alphabet Book with Animals”, on her website: www.sarahrachelglazer.com or follow her on instagram. Book Review 1: “This book is a great resource for parents and children. It teaches children how to appropriately interact with dogs and make it a safe and happy life experience.” -- Paul Sirna M.D., F.A.A.P., Pediatrician Book Review 2: "Dogs are truly our very best friends and add so much joy to our lives and the lives of our children. It is important to remember, though, that not all dogs react to people in the same way. For the safety of our children and our dogs, it is crucial that we teach children to behave responsibly around all dogs, including their own. Many injuries are preventable if children have a healthy respect for animals!!" -- Jennifer E. Tucker, MD, FAAP Pediatric Emergency Medicine physician
