The 2022 Volnay Les Mitans 1er Cru has a very focused bouquet, again, quite a lively bouquet with black cherries, sous-bois and crushed stone. The 1/3 whole clusters work well here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and fine acidity. It's lively and animated with a very slight lactic note towards the finish that fans out in confident fashion. Very fine, very delicious. Drinking window: 2026-2044. Score - 92-94.
