I remember looking around at other Christians and thinking that their lives seemed wrapped up so nicely and tied with a little bow. I looked at them and wondered how it was even possible to be so put together. I remember wanting to be close to them because their seemingly perfect lives drew me in. That, or I was just hoping to get some of that put-togetherness by osmosis. Then I started becoming friends with these perfect Christians. And I learned that they often went through the same struggles that I was going through. We were all hanging out in our own separate corners, wondering why we were so bad at something we love so much. We love God, we want to be in His will, but our humanness gets in the way sometimes. So I wrote this devotional. A little how-to guide for Christians that are searching for that nicely wrapped box with the neat little bow. Christians asking tough questions and going through hard things. Christians that love God but are still human. In it, you won't find wrapping instructions. There is no pretty bow included. But you will find a box to store all the stumbling blocks and shortcomings. They're easier to hand over to God that way. He's the one with the ability to pull it all together.
