Excerpt from England's Folly: A Paper Read Before the Silk Section of the Jubilee Exhibition, at Manchester, October 21, 1887 The object of our present Conference, in which I have much pleasure in taking a part, is, if possible, to discover some means whereby we may improve, extend, and resuscitate our once flourishing silk industries.
