Each sold seperately, price includes one rock.
Dimensions: Approx. 4.5 - 11.5 cm height
Material: Labradorite
Origin: Madagascar
These smooth, highly polished semi-precious stones are formed into a sculptural shape to allow the beauty of the stone to be revealed.
This variety of feldspar is of the plagioclase variety. It occurs within igneous rocks. The iridescent optical effect (schiller) which is sometimes present is caused by very slow cooling which creates mineral layers that refract light. Without this labradoresence (blue, green and sometimes red, orange, yellow), it can be difficult to tell it apart from other minerals present within the rock. The colour of the stone in which it forms is usually grey to black (mafic) and sometimes white. Labradorite is named after its original discovery in Labrador, Canada.
Labradorite is used to assist in accessing the subconscious. It is said to banish fears and insecurities, strengthen faith in the self and trust in the universe.
