All Leaana wants is to begin a normal life as she embarks on her rite of passage into adulthood. She has the mark of a familiar, but there has never been a girl familiar. Now as she enters adulthood it is too late to become one. Her plans to build her place in society are changed when her rite of passage becomes something unexpected. Leaana's twin brother Sagan, is a familiar with a white wolf as an animal guide. He is destined to lead his people.
