A very lovely and elegant expression of Oakville Cabernet from Groth, which was able to harvest the fruit that comprises this cuvee before the Glass Fire of 27 September. It's a compact, tight-knit, gorgeously balanced Cabernet that is reticent upon opening but with air reveals a wealth of crunchy red berry fruit, dusty minerals, cedarwood and capsicum. Medium-bodied with juicy red cherry, boysenberry, dark chocolate and sandalwood. Intricate fine-grained tannins and blood orange acidity make for a compelling and balanced red - best from 2024. Drinking window: 2024-2035. Score - 93.
