In the late 1950s, the Limelight gallery and coffeehouse was the intellectual hangout of Greenwich Village, drawing patrons and critics with the work of such figures as Minor White, Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Brassaï, Julia Margaret Cameron, and Robert Frank.
