This wine is named for "trinca bolotas" (acorn cracker) pigs. Europe's only surviving grazing pigs (pigs allowed to roam and feed as they will), trinca bolotas play a major role in preserving Alentejo's oak forests and are a celebrated part of the region's gastronomical heritage. This vibrant wine shows red fruit, blackberry, tobacco, dark chocolate and spice, and yes, it pairs with pork ribs. This wine is named for "trinca bolotas" (acorn cracker) pigs.
