I Can't Remember Tomorrow is an offbeat satire, a playful and absurd work of fiction that mixes humor, suspense, history, and commentary on the intellectual decline of a Great Nation, expressed with poetry, and smiles. The novel centers on three groups of people; each has had an encounter with a sphere in the sky. These characters come together as the story unfolds. Beginning with 19-year-old Bruce Martin, who, after seeing an orb, begins a quest to find a piano player who taps the ivory with his toes. The second is Steve Carmichael, The Spook, who proposes, to a secret congressional committee, that he can kill an orb. And finally, Felix Clark, the prodigy, who plays the piano with his feet at a healing service, Mobile Ministries, where Olivia sees an orb as a sign from God***.*** This is a thought-provoking parody about UFOs, shared with historical tidbits for interest and reflection, and it offers plausible reasons for a nation's decline, (The USA) including a vague connection to pork products. It draws inspiration from Clevis, West Virginia, a small town plagued by meth and holding out hopes of the reopening of its abandoned coal mine, where Bruce, who was self-deported from Alabama at a criminal judge's suggestion, lives with his girlfriend Freda and his grandfather Randy. Meanwhile, in South Dakota, Polar Bear Thunder and Steve the Spook use a thumper to summon sphere activity for shooting and killing. When no results occur, the secret committee sends Duron Claxton to oversee and report on their progress. Strange things happen in each of the three stories as they come together in this entertaining tale, connected by the mystical orb.
