I See Faces is about a little girl born with a condition called pareidolia, which allows her to see faces in inanimate objects. This book teaches an array of subjects in one story such as direction, feelings, emotions, opposites, self-esteem, and problem-solving skills.
This hand painted book was created as an early educational resource to children with behavioral challenges, mental health conditions, or issues coping and focusing when first learning how to read. I See Faces helps provide every child with the opportunity to receive the fundamental skills necessary for success in reading by sparking the sense of imagination to inspire creative, innovative thinking through art and early learning literacy.
I See Faces utilizes repetitive, small words like, ‘and’, ‘the’, and ‘is’ coupled with the words children use in their everyday vocabulary such as, ‘everywhere’, ‘straight’, and ‘sometimes’. The words to come alive through art. Using acrylic paints gives the pages a sense of texture so the imagery young readers see helps them to learn and comprehend.
